Tim Maudlin Tim William Eric Maudlin (born April 23, 1958, Washington, D.C.) is an American philosopher of science who has mainly studied the foundations of physics, metaphysics and logic. Currently he is working on a large development project on the application of mathematical analysis alternative to the topological structures.〔(Dept. NYU Philosophy ) Access 2012/11/21〕 == Biography == Maudlin graduated from Sidwell Friends School, Washington, D.C. Later he studied physics and philosophy at Yale University, and history and philosophy of science at the University of Pittsburgh, where he received his Ph.D. in 1986. He has taught for twenty five years at Rutgers University, and since 2010 is a professor at New York University. He has also been a visiting professor at Harvard University and Carnegie Mellon University. He is a member of the "Foundational Questions Institute", of the ''Academie Internationale de Philosophie des Sciences'' and has received a Guggenheim Fellowship.〔(Dept. Tim Maudlin is married to Vishnya Maudlin; they have two children: Clio and Maxwell.
